Background : Sian began work for Yorkshire Play in November 2006. She previously worked for Hampshire County Council (HCC) as a Research Assistant, looking into young people’s attitudes towards, and usage of, recreational spaces and other HCC services. She then went on to do a Masters at Leeds University, which involved working for a not-for-profit organisation in the international development sector and also part-time work with a Fair Trade company as their Office Manager. She decided to work for Yorkshire Play because she was attracted by working for an organisation that was involved with training people to provide social activities and play space for children and young people in the region. She is responsible for dealing with office admin, setting up systems and procedures, planning and attending meetings and generally dealing with Yorkshire Play enquiries. She is enthusiastic and looking forward to helping to raise the profile of play!
